 Our History

The New Perry Hotel was built in 1925 on the site of the original Perry Hotel, a large two story hotel erected in 1870 to accommodate the stage coach line and the extension of the railroad into Perry. The New Perry Hotel became a popular tourist accommodation in the 1920’s, when U.S. Highway 41 was paved from Tennessee to Florida.

"The Hotel," as it is known in Perry, has tried to maintain the atmosphere it became famous for, while updating with renovations and redecoration through the years. For some families, a stop at the New Perry Hotel has been a tradition for generations. Their trip is not complete unless they stay in one of the historic hotel rooms or those of the courtyard. Of course, their visit usually included dining on traditional Southern fare offered in The Hotel's dining room.
