The historic landmark hotel – the New Perry Hotel – has been recently purchased. Plans for the iconic building , are in development by its new owner and local consultants and designers. The main objective currently is to secure the hotel for future use once again as the epicenter of social, business and civic gatherings in downtown Perry and for the surrounding area. Proper plans for renovations are progressing in due course to see that this institution of significant Southern culture will remain so.
A Registered National Historic Landmark, New Perry Hotel was established in 1894
as Cox's Inn. In 1944, the hotel was sold to Yates and Nannette Green who continued to manage the New Perry Hotel for the next 50 years.
In October 2011, Kevin and Patricia Johnson purchased the hotel. The New Perry Hotel was sold again in 2015.
The New Perry Hotel is just a few miles from the Georgia National
Fairgrounds, Myron Mixon Cooking School, Warner Robins Air Force Base, Massee Lane Gardens - Home of Camellia Society,Fort Valley State College,
and is within easy driving distance of Macon and Atlanta, GA.
